Privacy Policy

Verdict is an iMessage app for creating and answering group surveys. It was built on a simple principle: your conversations and your answers are none of our business.

The short version: Verdict has no accounts, no sign-ups, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Survey data is stored in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) and is never sent to us or to any third party. We could not read your surveys even if we wanted to — we operate no servers of our own.

What data the app handles

Survey content — the questions and options a survey creator writes, and the answers respondents submit.
Display name (optional) — a name you type so your group knows whose answers are whose. You can leave it blank or use any name you like.
A random identifier — a randomly generated ID stored on your device, used only so that re-submitting a survey updates your previous answers instead of duplicating them. It is not derived from your identity, phone number, or Apple ID and cannot be used to identify you.

Where it's stored

Survey content is stored in the CloudKit public database, a service operated by Apple as part of iCloud. Data is transmitted and stored using Apple's security infrastructure. Surveys are only discoverable by someone who has received the survey's unique identifier through the iMessage conversation it was shared in.

What we collect

Nothing. The developer of Verdict operates no servers, embeds no third-party SDKs, and receives no analytics, telemetry, crash reports (beyond Apple's standard opt-in system diagnostics), advertising identifiers, or usage data.

What we share or sell

Nothing, with no one, ever. There is no data for us to share or sell.

Your messages

Verdict runs as a Messages extension. It cannot read your conversations. It only sees the survey bubbles created with Verdict that you tap on, and the surveys you create inside it. Sending any message always requires you to tap Send yourself.

Children

Verdict does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts and no age-gated features.

Data retention and deletion

Survey records remain in CloudKit so that group members can view results. To request deletion of a survey you created or answers you submitted, contact us with the survey title and approximate date and we will remove the records: verdictisupport@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Verdict changes how data is handled (for example, an optional feature to email results to a survey's creator), this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
